WoW Forever Camping Guide: Campfires, Camp Objects and Buffs

By Marc · Updated October 12, 2026

Camping is one of WoW Forever’s new systems, and one that old Classic guides can’t help with. The Cooking Fire has become a campfire that turns a spot in the world into a small camp: a place to rest between quests, with vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and buffs that last an hour. Other players can use your camp, and you can use theirs.

How a camp works

  • Place a campfire: the Basic Campfire (Cooking) creates a campsite where players can rest.
  • Sit by the fire: after a short time you become rested and get the camp’s buffs, which last one hour.
  • What a camp offers: vendors, repairs, profession workspaces, and a place to refresh food buffs, which were reworked in Forever.
  • Objects: a Basic Campfire holds up to three profession objects. Each player can add one, and they share a one-hour cooldown.
  • Bigger camps: cooks can learn campfires that hold five or ten objects.

Camp buffs don’t stack with class buffs that do the same thing, so they matter most when nobody in your group brings that buff.

Profession camp objects

Every profession has three camp objects, unlocked at different skill levels. The first comes at skill 20 from the profession’s NPCs or trainers; the more advanced ones are Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses. Blizzard’s examples:

  • Blacksmithing: Sharpening Wheel (Attack Power)
  • Tailoring: Faction Banner (Spirit)
  • Herbalism: Incense Candle (Intellect)
  • Alchemy: an Alchemy Lab
  • Leatherworking: a Tanning Rack, needed for more advanced Leatherworking recipes

The camp recipes we can name in the beta data so far:

Where you can camp

Not everywhere: some areas, cities among them, don’t allow camps, and camps need some space between them. When you’re near someone else’s camp you get a buff that tells you so, which makes it worth looking around before placing your own.

Frequently asked questions
