Maraudon Hardcore Guide
Level 42-52 · Desolace · Both factions

Why this dungeon matters
Maraudon is a large, colorful underground cave system split into an Orange wing, a Purple wing, and an inner area. There's no crystal-key door-opening mechanic. The colors just identify which wing you're in. The inner wing (Princess Theradras) is normally reached through the outer wings, though a quest chain rewards a Scepter that shortcuts straight there on later runs. It's one of the more logistically involved dungeons in the leveling range. Knowing which wing you're running matters as much as the combat itself.
What to pick up beforehand
Maraudon quests are picked up from Desolace quest givers on both factions. Check both sides if you've quested broadly through the zone. Decide which section of the dungeon you're targeting before you leave, since it affects which entrance and crystal you need.
Fight-by-fight breakdown
Lord Vyletongue (Purple wing) & Noxxion (Orange wing)
Noxxion periodically splits into five Noxxion Spawn and becomes untouchable for up to 20 seconds while split. Kill all five spawns quickly to bring him back rather than standing around waiting, since he'll just split again once the fight resumes.
Razorlash & Celebras the Cursed
Standard fights for the bracket. The main risk is nearby trash rather than the bosses themselves, since Maraudon's tunnels can funnel packs together if you don't clear methodically.
Landslide
An elemental-type boss with hard-hitting physical attacks. Make sure your tank has aggro locked before the group commits to full damage output.
Princess Theradras (final boss)
Dust Field hits everyone within 20 yards for Nature damage and knocks them back a considerable distance. Healers and ranged damage should already be at max range before it goes off, and melee should know which direction is safe to fly back into. Be conscious of your positioning relative to ledges or hazardous terrain before the pull. A knockback near the wrong spot can be more dangerous than the boss's direct damage.
Hardcore notes
- Decide which wing you're running before entering. Backtracking to a different wing mid-run wastes time you can't get back in Hardcore.
- Check your positioning relative to ledges and hazards before pulling Princess Theradras. Her knockback can turn a survivable hit into a fall.
- The tunnels can funnel separate packs together if cleared carelessly. Take the dungeon's density seriously even though no single trash pull looks dramatic on its own.
Wrapping up
Maraudon's main challenge is logistical as much as combat-focused. Know your section and crystal requirements before you go in, and respect Princess Theradras's knockback near hazardous terrain. Handled with a plan, it's a manageable stop in the low-to-mid forties range.

Frequently asked questions
What level should I be for Maraudon in Hardcore?
Maraudon is tuned for levels 42-52. It's located in Desolace and open to both factions.
Why does Maraudon have three entrances?
Maraudon is split into an Orange wing (Noxxion), a Purple wing (Lord Vyletongue), and an inner area reached via a quest chain rather than a collected crystal key. Killing Noxxion and Vyletongue and turning in their drops lets Celebras the Redeemed create the Scepter of Celebras, which opens a shortcut straight to the inner wing and Princess Theradras, skipping most of the outer dungeon on repeat runs.
What is the final boss fight like in Maraudon?
Princess Theradras hits hard and periodically uses Dust Field, an AoE Nature attack that knocks everyone within 20 yards back a significant distance, dangerous near ledges or hazardous terrain. Be aware of your positioning relative to drops or environmental hazards before committing to the fight.
